Obsidian Lagoon

Dark, mysterious, and beautifully untamed, Obsidian Lagoon is a sculptural stone vessel defined by dramatic contrast and an extraordinary organic form. Its deep, glossy center appears almost liquid, creating the illusion of a shadowed lagoon captured forever within the stone.

Rich tones of charcoal, smoky brown, and near-black flow across the polished interior, while unexpected areas of ivory and pale mineral matrix break through along the perimeter. These natural contrasts give the piece remarkable depth and character, revealing the geological story preserved within the stone.

The irregular, undulating edge is intentionally left expressive, forming dramatic peaks, curves, and recesses around the central basin. Against the highly polished interior, this rugged perimeter creates a striking balance between raw nature and refined craftsmanship.

As light moves across the surface, subtle banding and hidden variations emerge from the darkness, giving Obsidian Lagoon an ever-changing presence. From above, it resembles a mysterious body of water surrounded by an ancient rocky shoreline; from an angle, it becomes an abstract sculpture with bold dimension and movement.
